A Slow Afternoon at Wheeler's Yard

Isn't it funny how the faster the world moves, the quicker we yearn to jump into a rabbit hole back to a time where things were so much simpler and slower? Some time just to do a little bit of nothing. And damnit, without feeling a whole lot of guilt. 'I've got a new set of wheels' would probably elicit envious looks a decade ago among peers. Nowadays, it's still the coolest thing to say but not in reference to the automotive kind.

That's why Wheeler's Yard is a grown-up's wet dream. It's huge and it's massive. Heck, its an entire warehouse. A cafe to collect one's thoughts, read a book and enjoy a great cup of java. This, on top of wiping your mouth of drool from taking in some pretty sexy set of wheels. The slow and authentic life, it seems to promise. But the weather here in the Lion City is a downer for stuff like these. I admire the brave ones.

The venue's pretty fitting. Grab a set of old-school wheels in an old-school
warehouse.
A bicycle for a Christmas gift?
Ok, how do I get in?
The entrance is just round the corner.
Something for the kids.
Bicycle Atelier.  The grown-ups may drool here.
I'm parking myself here for coffee!
The 'alfresco' section of the cafe. Too balmy? Head inside to cool down.
Latte's great!
The simple menu features mainly all day breakfast sets, quiches, pasta and
sandwiches. Will just settle for a mushroom soup. Came in a small cup
but it was surprisingly good aka restaurant standard. Will be back for
heartier bites!

Here is our review for Wheeler's Yard:

    1. Yes, park at a neighbouring HDB carpark or the one near Whampoa market and walk over. Parking there is kinda a pain.
